CSA is now ProQuest

CSA Illumina is getting a new interface and a new name and from 10 June will be known as ProQuest. http://search.proquest.com/index

ProQuest is already live and ready to go, links are available in the library catalogue and on the Environment subject page so feel free to try to out.

IMPORTANT! If you have set up a MyResearch account in CSA for saved searches and alerts this will not be transferred automatically into ProQuest, you will have to register for a new MyReseach account in Proquest.

Getting the books you want is now easier

We’ve changed the way that you reserve books. Changes include:

• When you reserve a book, all the copies we have in stock at all our libraries are now reserved for you, so you should get your books more quickly.
• You can choose which library you want to pick the book up from, and to specify the date after which you will no longer need it.

This system also replaces the inter-campus loans system. As before, if there is a copy on the shelf at your pickup library, you won’t be able to request a copy from somewhere else. These changes should mean that you get a copy of the book you need more quickly.

Library catalogue maintenance 12th – 13th January

E-Journal records will be temporarily unavailable via the Library Catalogue from Tuesday 12th January 2010 at 2pm and on Wednesday 13th January 2010. This is due to essential maintenance of the Library catalogue. The records will be available again from Thursday 14th January 2010.

During this time you can access e-Journal resources via the A-Z Journal List as usual.

Library catalogue unavailable Thursday 17 – Friday 18 September

Due to a planned update the library catalogue will be unavailable on Thursday 17 and Friday 18 September.

During this time you will be able to search for titles using MetaLib however MetaLib does not give details of the location and availability of an item. To check these details please contact the library help desk.

ICL Library catalogue – new and improved for 2007

iLink, the library catalogue has just got a lot more colourful and informative. As well as your usual list of search results you’ll also be able to see the book jacket, table of contents and/or summary.
